A Garden and Two Houses
2016 – Unbuilt
Set within a date palm garden irrigated by a network of water channels, the two houses form a convenient and comfortable way of living in a suburban setting of the UAE. The distribution of separate rooms throughout the garden encourage outdoor uses, enhanced by the microclimate created underneath the palm trees and amongst the water channels. It also enables other animals, insects and plants to thrive in the otherwise harsh desert environment. All available water is carefully collected and recycled using reed bed filtration and rainwater harvesting, integrated into a system of channels, pools and tanks.
